Description:

Learn the Judy Niemeyer foundation paper piecing techniques. We will make a beautiful star using a strip set and background fabrics (2).

You Need:

• Prismatic Star Pattern

• Quiltworx Strip Set

• 2 Background Fabrics

• 12” Add-a-quarter Ruler

• Gallon Ziploc Bags

• A Purple Thang

• Glue stick or glue pen

• Flower pins

• Binder clips

• Sharpie

• Fold template (plastic 12” x 3” piece or postcard)

• Acorn Pen with easy fabric treatment

• Small Iron and iron surface

• 45 mm and 60 mm rotary cutter with replacement blades

• Cutting mat 24” x 18”

• Rulers for cutting fabric and papers

Fabrics: (to be purchased at Treasure Chest Quilting) Kit fee: $

• Quiltworx Strip Set

• Fabric #AA-A1 – 1 ¼ yd

• Background Fabric: 2 3/8 yd

• Backing 4 ¼ yd

Additional Supplies:

• Sewing machine in top working order with power cord and foot pedal

• New 70 needle

• Open toe foot and a ¼” foot for your machine

• Thread

• Small scissors

• Small rulers (6.5” x 24.5” and 6.5” x 12.5”)

• Small iron & wool pressing mat or pressing surface

• Other sewing supplies (seam ripper, marking tools, etc.)

• Light box

Before class:

• Register for class by October 24, 2024

• Contact Teresa by October 24th if you need any supplies for class.

• THE FIRST CLASS WILL BE CUTTING OUT ALL OF THE PIECES FOR THE BLOCKS. PLEASE ONLY BRING STARCHED FABRICS (background and #AA-A1), CUTTING MAT, RULERS, ROTARY CUTTER, ZIPLOC BAGS, POST IT NOTES, AND SHARPIES.
